Our anniversary

Dear Dawson,

Today marks 7 years that your parents have been together. This morning, Mama woke me up with an Easter basket full of treats that she knows I love, and a very sweet card. I love her so much, and we make a really great team. We listen to each other, we do things for each other, we think about each other before we think about ourselves. We compromise, we are honest and we work together. The last seven years have been the best years of my whole life, and we are both so excited that the years ahead include YOU!

Mama and I both hope that one day, you'll find "your person." (Not for a long time though, because we want to be your "people" for as long as we can!)  We hope and pray that one day you will find someone who makes you as happy as we make each other. That you will feel safe and secure in a relationship with a person who is good to you. We hope you find someone who you can have a secret language with, someone who you can share a million inside jokes with, and someone who will make you laugh. It's a gift from God when you find that person. Mama and I found it early, and we are so blessed.

No matter what, it's important for you to know that your parents love each other, and we love you too. We hope to be a model of what a positive and healthy relationship looks like for you.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant today, only 9 weeks to go! I can't wait to meet you, little boy.

Mommy.

  1. Reading this blog always alleviates the stress I feel whenever my mind wanders to the infertility forums and read the horror stories of people trying and failing so many times. It's crazy to see hoe hard it is to stay positive when you have little road blocks in the process, but i know its possible, and you are my proof. Just wanted to say thanks.

  2. It can happen and it will. You just have to remember it's not the doctors or the donor or the pills that put the baby there. It's God. And you just have to keep reminding yourself that His plan is better than our plan. His timing is better than ours. :)
