Deep Breaths and Baby Steps: 4.5 months

Our little baby is 4.5 months old! Time is flying by! I look at pictures of him and see a little kid, where did my newborn baby go?

He is so alert, laughing and talking like crazy. He has rolled over a few times, and is starting to sit up (with assistance) We've tried rice cereal a few times, and he seems to like it!

We have a pretty good routine established. When he wakes up he plays on his mat and watches TV while I pick up the kitchen.

Then we go upstairs and play in his bouncy seat, and then we read a story. By that time he's been up for an hour and a half and is ready for his morning nap. I nurse him and we both usually fall asleep for about 45 minutes. Then we get up and run errands, go to the gym, etc. By 2:00 we're home and he's tired, and so he goes down for his afternoon nap. Up until last week, we would lay together and sleep, but we are trying to get him to take a nap on his own. We did it once last week, but I wasn't able to be consistent so we're going to try again this week.

After his nap we play, go on a walk, read, etc and wait for Sarah to get home. By 5:00 I'm ready for a break, and some days she's home right around that time which works out perfectly. But sometimes she works til 7:00-7:30 and that is a little harder. But I am so thankful that she is working so hard for our family.

We love him so so much. I fall more in love with him every day. He is an answered prayer. He is beautiful and wonderful and sweet and fun. His personality is really starting to develop and I love watching him grow and change every single day.

We spend almost every weekend with at least one set of grandparents. I love that he can be close to them and make memories with them.
