4 weeks old!

Dawson is sleeping, and I should be too, but I wanted to use this little window of time to write a quick update on our last 4 weeks.

We love him soooo much! He is so beautiful and so sweet, and it is hard not to get teary eyed when we look at him. He is very strong, and can hold his head up all by himself. He rolled over from his tummy to his back when he was 4 days old!

We are exclusively breastfeeding (expect for a few emergency times when we had to use formula) but we've noticed that when we use formula his tummy hurts and he is much more fussy. I love breastfeeding him, I love the connection and bonding time.

Sleeping is the only thing that is still a little tough. He's up about every 2 hours, and since we are breastfeeding, I'm the only one who can get up and feed him. Sarah is great about changing him or cuddling him back to sleep. We make such a good team, and when one of us is tired or frustrated the other one jumps right in to help. We love playing with him, reading to him, singing to him, and kissing him all over.

It's hard to get things done with a new baby, which is why I should be using this precious time where he is sleeping to be productive around the house, but I also need "me" time to feel like a real person too.

Sarah and I went on a date on Saturday and Molly babysat for us. We didn't worry about Dawson at all, and enjoyed flirting and spending time together, eating sushi and ice cream. We missed our boy like crazy, but it was a great date.

I'm going to end this now and see if I can get a quick nap in.

I love love love love my little boy, and look forward to playing with him later :)
