This is her:
And this is us
I saw her profile on Myspace (back when Myspace was cool) and sent her a message. We talked back and forth, and eventually met at Panera. That was March 2006, and we fall more in love every day. We are two of the best communicators I know, we listen to each other, and we put each other before anyone else. We laugh all the time, we're great at compromising, and we love being together.
We are really proud of our accomplishments that we've made together. We are both UCF alumni (Goooo Knights!) We both have solid careers, we've started a tutoring business in our area, we've paid off all of our debt, both of our cars, and are confident in our ability to manage, save and budget our money. We have both started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, have been baptized, and we are aware that all of these accomplishments are not because of our doing, but because it's part of His plan.
It's been my dream to start a family for a while, but she was a little hesitant. A few weekends ago we had a talk with my parents, and we decided that we'll never be ready, and that the only way to get through the scary aspects of being two women raising a baby... is to raise a baby.
Our first appointment is May 30th. It is a consultation at the Center of Reproductive Medicine here in Orlando. I've tried to move the appointment up because I'm so excited, but the soonest they can get me in is May 30.
We are hoping and crossing our fingers that we will be successful in getting pregnant on the first few tries. We're relying on my very normal cycle and the fact that my mom and grandma are very fertile, to keep our hopes up.
I hope this journal will be a way to document the ups and downs of our journey to start a family, and to one day be something our child can look back on and see the love that started this whole process.
Baby Steps and Deep Breaths...
